Wavelengths DWDM
Wavelength service iis primarily a service for operators and it provides high bandwidths over long distances. The service is based on DWDM technology (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing). The wavelength service can be delivered from any WTL node and it offers protocol-transparent transmission of data, telephony or other traffic with speeds up to 10Gbit/s (STM-64) per wavelength.
The wavelength service can be ordered as simple point-to-point connections of in a ring structure for capacities ranging from a few channel 1 (1 lambda) to as many channels/lambda (subject to availability), with flexible contract terms.
A transparent wavelength service means that the customer can retain control over the network and implement custom solution on top of the wavelength connections from WTL, for example, protection of connections and series or synchronization. WTL’s wavelength service can be combined with co-location which gives the customer the possibility to install transmission equipment in WTL’s nodes.
